Description
Germany, despite being prohibited from developing tanks after WWI, secretly created the Panzerkampfwagen I, disguised as an “agricultural tractor” to avoid detection of rearmament. The Pz.Kpfw.I saw substantial production, with the Ausf.B variant featuring an upgraded engine of 100hp, almost double that of the previous Ausf.A, and a 40cm longer hull. This model was equipped with two 7.92mm MG13 machine guns. While initially intended for training purposes, the Pz.Kpfw.I was first utilized in combat during the Spanish Civil War and played a significant role in various military operations, including the invasions of Poland and during the Eastern Front.
